Love is like a battlefield

Where bleeding hearts are shed

Where camouflage hides the truth

Where lovers, like enemies, fight to their death.

Hearts, like raw wounds, exposed.

Beating, bleeding, aching…dying.

Forever

Forever is a long time.

I remember the hours we would spend together.

I remember the pointless things we used to do.

But it didn't matter because our friendship was forever.

Then I left for a while.

I thought our friendship could last the distance.

I thought it could last the time.

I thought we would be friends forever.

But alas!

Life has other plans.

Life pulls us into different directions.

Love has the last laugh.

Meeting your beautiful bride at the end.

Best friends forever.

In silence

Thoughts become so loud

Screaming for recognition

Screaming for acknowledgement

The eyes blink

and blink again

They close for a moment

For relief

For peace

These thoughts running through my head

of tomorrow

of February

of next year.

I find myself

not here and now

but in some faraway place.

Maybe I can't stand to be alone.

To be left alone with just me.

Maybe I'm not comfortable

facing the world with just me again.

But here I am.
